Retreat from Meat!
Join in with Meat Free Monday and donate £7 Donation based on the substitution of meat with a vegetarian alternative for the main meal of the day every Monday during Lent.
Enjoy a full veggie diet and donate £46 Donation based on the substitution of meat with a vegetarian alternative for the main meal of the day every day during Lent.
Ride it Out!
Cycle (or walk) to the shops and donate £6 Donation based on the substitution of a 2 mile round trip car journey at 45p per mile (fuel + maintenance) once a week during Lent.
Ride your bike to work and donate £86 Donation based on the substitution of a 6 mile round trip car journey at 45p per mile (fuel + maintenance) five days a week during Lent.
Pack it In!
Make your own commuter coffee and donate £70 Donation based on the substitution of a take-away latte for a thermos of hot coffee five days a week during Lent.
Eat a packed lunch and donate £100 Donation based on the substitution of a shop-bought lunch (drink, sandwich, chocolate bar and fruit) for the same meal prepared at home five days a week during Lent.
Here are a few extra ideas:
- Give up junk food
- Buy locally-produced seasonal fruit and veg
- Walk short journeys; share long drives
- Turn down the thermostat
- Borrow rather than buy (or buy from a charity shop)
- Spend Sundays without electricity
- Holiday at home
- Use washable nappies
