All ages turned out to plant gum tree seedlings in the community 'woodlot' (plantation of gum trees) in Dudzu this week, after the rains finally came.

These trees will provide a sustainable source of income, firewood and building material in a few years' time. They can be harvested whilst the 'mother' continues to grow.

The community set aside the land, fenced it off (with our help for inputs), and prepared the soil. We provided the seedlings and technical advice, they planted and will continue to tend the seedlings.
