NEWSWOMEN'S SKILLS DEVELOPMENT IN HARARE2012-02-22
Maids and gardener's wives attending this project have done extremely well in terms of attendance and commitment. We ran a cooking course with 10 women in Sep-Nov, and a sewing one with 20 women in Nov-Feb, both funded by Southern African Education Funds of colleges of Cambridge University.
We are looking forward to assisting the women to start their businesses, through micro finance and advice. We will also run a second cooking course for 10 women in Mar-Apr. These skills development courses are proving so effective, and there is such a big demand, that we are now considering doing more courses in making peanut butter, soap, floor polish, candles, as well as the same sewing and cooking again.
