A group of gardeners and cleaners in the middle-class Hararean suburb of Greendale needed a catalyst to enable them to get together and support one another. SEED has helped them to form a football team so that they can meet with official permission and get the social activity and practical benefits of a community that we all crave, especially in times of real trouble.

Through football they are able to forget their worries for a few hours, enjoy each others' company, and discuss how they might make a better life for themselves. Many of them are currently studying at night school, facilitated by SEED, as the first step towards a life where they can afford health care, education for their children and visits to their families.

Football is bringing organisations and faiths together too. Through tournaments and training relationships are developing between local schools, faith groups and charities.
