Granny Prisca is a 79-year-old widow who cares for three grandchildren, orphans from her two late daughters. She also has a son, but he is mentally ill, so the burden of fending for the family has fallen on her shoulders. SEED gave her some basic business and agricultural skills.
Soon, market vendors were coming to her in the hope of being able to sell her produce. Having learned how to grow a variety of crops throughout the year, rather than just during the rainy season, she has been able to expand her plots and is using surplus from what she grows to feed her family more nutritious meals. Now everyone in the surrounding villages wants to learn from her example.
Help SEED to train others like Granny Prisca in Zimbabwe's disadvantaged communities by sponsoring a parent.
